The EduWiki Knowledge Showcase is back!
The* January 2026 EduWiki Knowledge Showcase*, our first Knowledge Showcase
of the year, is themed around the celebration of *Wikipedia’s 25th
anniversary*.
This session will feature reflections on open knowledge and education. As
part of the programme, community members will share short, creative
contributions that explore how Wikipedia has shaped their work, learning,
and teaching.

We invite community members to share stories that highlight projects,
events, experiences, or reflections connecting Wikimedia and Education. For
this first issue of 2026, we also welcome submissions that outline your

Dear EduWiki Community,
In January 2026, Wikipedia marks 25 years of open knowledge, collaboration,
and global impact. To celebrate this milestone, the EduWiki Hub

will host a special Wikipedia@25 celebration on 22 January 2026, taking
place during our first Knowledge Showcase

of the year.
As part of the celebration, we are inviting members of the Wikimedia and
education communities to share short creative contributions of 1-5 minutes,
such as poems or brief performances reflecting on how they have contributed
to Wikipedia, how Wikipedia has contributed to them, or how they have used
Wikipedia in education. These creative reflections will be featured during
the celebration segment of the Knowledge Showcase as we honour the people
and stories behind 25 years of Wikipedia.

Dear GLAM Community,
Happy 2026!
We're excited to share that our GLAM Community Calls will be happening on
the fourth Tuesday of each month throughout 2026. Mark your calendars for
this month's call on January 27 at 13:30 UTC – you can register now on the
event page.

The calls will continue alternating between 8:00 UTC and 13:30 UTC to
accommodate community members across different time zones, with ongoing
support from the Content Partnerships Hub and the Content Enablement Team

We're building our upcoming agendas around the five strategic pillars that
were developed at GLAM Wiki last year, which form the foundation for GLAM
activities in 2026 and beyond. By centering these pillars in our calls, we
hope to help affiliates and contributors prioritize these themes in their
own work and collaborate across time zones, countries, and languages to
advance GLAM Wiki activities together.
