I have been wanting to get a deeper look at Salt for a long long time... Seems that the time has come!

+1 for not using personal Github. If in doubt you can always use this:
operations/software Random software tools for ops tasks (svn2git, udpprofile, etc)
and then there are a lot of repos under operations/software/foo
