Of course I don't support the idea of unnecessary complexity.  If this makes things harder on us without buying anything for the users, then never mind. :]

Do you mean that we should or shouldn't support it? Or that we should somehow create another plugin on top of cirrus that enhances it with extra features only if those Elasticsearch plugins are installed?
