I've been on vacation, so I know I'm late to the party, but I had to jump
in and say that this is great news! The new search box really is wonderful.
I wanted to see where we currently are with the bounce rate of visitors to
the portal and found some really good news on our
dashboard [2].

Even unsmoothed it's clear what's going on. Bounce and search really mirror
each other—so people aren't bouncing generally *because* they are searching
instead—and they have been getting closer to each other.
The weird thing is that people bounce more and search less on Saturdays,
though. I wonder if that's more bounces, fewer searches, or both.
