Dear Wikimedia Digitization Community,
Wikimania 2025 is coming to Nairobi, Kenya from August 6–9 (with a pre-conference on August 5), and we’re thrilled to announce that the Call for Program Proposals is now open!
This year’s theme, "Wikimania at 20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability", celebrates two decades of connecting knowledge and communities. We believe your expertise in digitization plays a critical role in making public domain works accessible, impactful, and sustainable, and we would love to see your contributions featured in the program.
Proposals can be presented in various formats: ● Remote presentations from the comfort of your home or workplace. ● Pre-recorded sessions to share at the conference. ● Onsite presentations in Nairobi, Kenya.
To help spark ideas, here are a few topics that may align with the conference theme: ● Digitizing Public Domain Materials for Global Accessibility: How digitized resources can bridge gaps in inclusivity and empower communities. ● Innovations in Sustainable Digitization: Exploring eco-friendly approaches and best practices for large-scale digitization projects. ● Digitization and Impact Measurement: Highlighting the influence of digitized public domain works in education, research, and cultural preservation.
Submissions close on March 31, 2025, so don’t miss your chance to shape this global gathering. Learn more and submit your proposal at https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2025:Program
