I've filed T114296: Figure out tag for #MediaWiki-RFCs that need design/UX taggingas a way of tracking our discussion about this.

More generally, we need to figure out how to get Design team representation in the Architecture Committee, but I'm not going to threadjack for that. :-) I'm about to go on vacation until the last week of October, so maybe I'll fire up a separate thread if that issue is still lingering when I get back.
