Even if you don't like the wording, the points may still be worth
considering. That's the nature of any meaningful discussion - different
points are brought up and considered, whether you call them 'points',
'ideas', 'arguments', 'opinions', or 'pine trees'. We
consider, we
address, we decide what to do for the time being, we move onto the next
thing.
We should always be arguing, though there are times when it should
perhaps be done so more politely in order to keep it productive, indeed.
