Hello folks,
I am happy to share that I have built a Dagbanli Dictionary which is now live at: https://dagbanli.info/
The tool is currently in *Beta*, so a lot of refinement is still needed. I am looking for people to stress-test it and send over feedback.
This project builds a Dagbanli-first digital infrastructure to move away from reliance on English-based wordlists. The goal is to create a dynamic record of the language with native audio and full grammatical mapping.
Help is needed to refine the tool in several areas, including:
- *Admins*: To manage the project dashboard and tasks. - *Category Leads*: To "adopt" a lexical category (Nouns, Verbs, etc.) and create gold-standard word models. - *Developers*: To contribute to the open-source codebase via pull requests.
All links, including the live tool, source code, and feedback etherpad are available on the central project page: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Dagbanli_dictionary
Please add your name to the *Participants* list on that page and indicate your area of interest.
Best,
Wow

Hello folks,
I am happy to share a major update to the Dagbanli Dictionary.
The dictionary now integrates over **20,000 native audio recordings** from the Mozilla Common Voice dataset. This means when you look up a word, you can now hear it spoken in example sentences. You can see this in action here: https://dagbanli.info/?word=L722895
This is a significant step toward our goal of **phonological preservation**, ensuring the oral heritage of Dagbanli is not lost in its digital transition.
All links, including the live tool, source code, and a feedback etherpad, are on the central project page: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Dagbanli_dictionary
Best,
