If we are talking about the same press list (the google document spreadsheet), it is *already* sorted by country :) I created a sheet per country almost right from the start. If you are saying we should split the file itself and create a spreadsheet per country, I would say it would be rather a bad idea, since 1. it's contrary to the principle of a spreadsheet and, more important 2. that means we would have to add each volunteer to the sharing list of each file (one person is likely to add contacts from multiple countries), which would not be very practical.

The document has always been slow to load; I'd rather say that comes from it being a web-based google document than being heavy :)
