Hi Eugene,
Excellent work!
Is there something more people should do to encourage KDE to use
Commons material, or have you done all the hard work? :)
I don't think that I done too much, just advertisement :-) I feel that
we need closer relationship with KDE developers. I sent couple of
follow up e-mails, but time was not particularly good - I got reply
from Inge Wallin that he still on the way home.
There are lot of ideas on
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/KDE_and_Wikipedia but I don't think any
of them were implemented...
So I suggest that other Commoners/Wikimedians (better communicators
then me) will work with KDE closer (kde-edu, KOffice, Marble, etc.)
Will be great if somebody with Wiktionary/OmegaWiki experience will
work with developers of kde-edu linguistic software. Probably some
improvements should be made in MediWiki API to make
downloads/uploads/search services easier to use for 3rd party software
developers, for example: clip art, wallpapers (particularly from
featured images), pronunciation files, etc.
Cross-domain experience is very important in such collaboration
projects... But it's require time and dedication. May be other ideas
will generated via such communications.
cheers
Brianna
With best regards,
Eugene.
