Hm... I think it's fine. You could put it under 'Dog breeds' instead
of 'List of...'
The 'gallery' name for the main namespace is intended as a guideline
as to what is appropriate there (ie... not articles). It's not the
definition of what is allowed there.
A possible solution would be adding small thumbnails,
one example of
each dog breed, to the table rows, effectively making it a gallery,
just an unusual one. On the other hand, if such a hack is needed to
bend the rules, we might want to think about the rules again...
I think that would be useful, not a hack or an unusual gallery for
that matter. But it's not bending the rules because we don't have any
prescriptive rules about what is or isn't appropriate in the main
namespace beyond [[Commons:Project scope]].
If people want to make it into a 'summary gallery', that is cool. If
they want to leave it as it is now, that is cool too, to me at least.
Not every admin action should necessarily be reflected back on the
entire wiki community. ;)
