Does anyone know how the Internet Archive is
funded?
There's a contributor list at the bottom of
http://archive.org/ .
They're a charity. I think most of their funding comes via Alexa and
therefore via Amazon.
The first line of their donate page (after "thankyou") says:
"If you want to donate a digital collection, please contact us."
That's pretty awesome. It might be worth having a page about people
who want to donate digital collections (or access to collections to
make digital) on the WMF wiki. Obviously people are willing to do it
-- we've received some without even asking -- so it might be
interesting if we specifically asked, too.
cheers,
Brianna
