Hi!
As you may know, many Commoners make it a point to make SVG images pass the W3C Markup Validation Service, and even created a template to mark images that don't. This system has scalability and maintainability issues, so I have designed an apposite extension for the MediaWiki software which I think will help automating the process for the sake of the whole community.
