There's no policy that I'm aware of which prevents you from installing PHP 8 on a WMCS VM, providing you're careful with the source/licence [0] and potential effects on package upgrades — packages.sury.org/php [1] is my go-to DPA for PHP 8.

But I assume that PHP 8 can not be loaded onto WM Cloud Servers by a matter of policy, correct?

My concern here is, I have some code that just lost security patches due to EOL. The next upgrade only supports PHP 8.

It has the ability to leave a huge gap in the security of my code.

Is there any plan to support PHP 8 any time soon?
