Hi,
It should be great to have a (long-term) plan to offer not only metrics/alerts support, but a whole OpenTelemetry infrastructure, available to Cloud VPS projects.
I'd really love to be able to use the LGTM stack in Cloud VPS.

Hi Roy,
I'm afraid there are no test instances you can use. But we do have one
"shared" Prometheus instance running in Cloud VPS that scrapes metrics
from many Cloud VPS projects.

One thing you could do is expose some test metrics to an endpoint like
https://libraryupgrader2.wmcloud.org/metrics and ask for that endpoint
to be added to the "scrape targets" of the shared MetricsInfra
Prometheus instance.

There is some documentation at
https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Portal:Cloud_VPS/Admin/Monitoring#Metricsinfra_Prometheus

We have some plans to make it easier to add custom metrics and alerts
for any Cloud VPS project, but this will take some time, see

HTH,
Francesco
