G&#39;day everyone, <br>I saw this new mailing list and thought to myself - &quot;you know what, I would like to subscribe to a new mailing list today - this looks like a good one!&quot; And so I did, and here I am. <br>What an amazing journey it has been... you wouldn&#39;t imagine beautiful things I have seen in the brief period between discovering the mailing list, subscribing, and writing this letter. But I must say that the highlight was the automated email telling me what my password was and how to unsubscribe if I wanted to. I think I will cherish that email forever :-)<br>
<br>But on to the boring stuff...<br><br>I&#39;m guessing that if you&#39;re already on this mailing list then you probably already know me. I&#39;m Liam, the Vice President of Wikimedia Australia, podcaster on Wikipedia[not very]Weekly, I wrote my thesis about how Wikipedia and Academia need to learn from each other and I have recently run the GLAM-WIKI conference in Canberra. Yes, I&#39;m sorry, it was because of that that we now all have to try to live with the word &quot;glam&quot; being used as a noun. <br>
<br>My particular &quot;thing&quot; is liaising with the cultural sector (that is - galleries, libraries, archives and museums) about how we can work together to build sustainable relationships. That was the essence of the GLAM-WIKI conference.
