-[Rename User] the special page to rename users has come back the same way
as it disappeared; unexpected. Bureaucrats should now again have the
option to rename a user-account to another name, given that the name of
the new user-account does not yet exist (see special pages). It also looks
like the original limit, stating that only users with less then 6800 edits
can be renamed, is still valid. Using Kate's tool, users can check
themselves their number of edits doesn't exceed this limit. If your wiki
does not have a formal policy for renaming users, please make sure at
least that all users requesting to be renamed have placed a properly
signed request on your wiki themselves. This to cover your ass as a
bureaucrat.

-[Fancy nicks]- For nicks including tags, such as <font color="red"> color
tags, it was found that many times the closing tag, in this case </font>
had been left out, messing up pages. The MediaWiki software has been
changed because of this. Wiki markup and HTML markup do no longer function
in the Nickname field any longer, unless the Raw signatures option is
checked in your preferences. The current version has been tested and found
to be secure against scripts, too. For more information follow the link.

So, that is it. Number 0. The experiment is over. The feedback about
Wikizine was limited but enough.
I can now confirm that there will be Wikizine next week. I will try to
make some publicity about Wikizine.
Now everbody may know about it. The first issue of Wikizine, number -5, is
sent to about 40 listmembers.
We now have about 55 members. What it will be for number 1 I will tell you
next week. Bye!

=== Editorial comment ===
Wikizine has now the new section "Quote". In a ideal world this would contain
a new quote made the previous week by a member of the Wikimedia community.
But like you probably noticed already this is not an ideal world.
For this week I was lucky to find a good one on the mailing lists.
But mostly the quotes will be old ones from Wikipedians, geeks and similar.
After this Wikizine there is only one experimental issue left, number 0,
before we start with the real stuff. So if you have a comment about
Wikizine how to make it better or to help contact me.
I hope to receive at least the same response like on the Wikizine of last
week. I can now confirm there is at least one (1) reader of Wikizine.
