Hi Adrian,

This was posted on the Ops list, and sharing it here:

tldr; bast3001 has been replaced, use bast3002 instead.

Hi,

bast3001 has had a broken RAID for a while and we kept getting more serious SMART error mails constantly  (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T154603)

Since the hardware is really old we just replaced it with another spare server in esams
and created bast3002  (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T156506)

So if you are a user of bast3001 (in Europe), please go to your ssh config once and just replace 3001 with 3002.

I will copy data from /home as well now and created a ticket for the decom of bast3001. I wanted to give it maybe one more day before removing it from firewall rules as well, so that there is a chance to switch. (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T159480)

I have also edited  https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Production_shell_access  and some other places on wiki.

Here are the fingerprints:  https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:SSH_Fingerprints/bast3002.wikimedia.org

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi everyone,

since yesterday we are having trouble logging in to the server. We
receive an error message:

connect to host bast3001.wikimedia.org port 22: Network is unreachable

Just wanted to know if this is a known problem and if not whom I have to
report it to.

Regards,

Adrian
