Many of you may already know this, but I wanted to follow up on Kenan's departure note and let everyone know the interim staffing plan for mobile web and apps.
We're going to have Maryana (at 100%) and DanG (at 50%) PM mobile web and apps. We still need to figure out the details of who covers what (e.g., Maryana --> web, Dan --> apps; vice versa; Maryana + DanG cover both as a team), but it will be some combination of the two.
The plan right now is to have DanG work with mobile for about 3 months, and then go back to Platform. Maryana is likely to stay with the team for ~6 months, but let's keep this open as the timing may be influenced by when we can find Kenan's backfill. Please note that Kenan's backfill is going to be a general PM role. As I mentioned to the folks in the office, I'd like to move to a model where are of our PMs are part mobile PMs.
We're targeting this coming Tuesday (4/29) for the handoff from Kenan to Maryana and DanG. I'm hoping we can transition both mobile web and app product ownership on Tuesday, but may need to do one first depending on how long the PM planning takes (e.g., bringing Maryana + DanG up to speed on backlogs, Maryana also needs to transition Flow to DannyH).
