*Dear all,I am excited to inform you that the African Wikimedia Developers
Project (AWMD)
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Africa_Wikimedia_Developers_Project>
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Africa_Wikimedia_Developers_Project>[1]
will have its second training session in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This event
was made possible thanks to a close collaboration between Wikimedia
Community User Group Côte d’Ivoire (WCUG-CI) and Open Foundation West
Africa, along with other local partners.From February 16 to 17, around 25
developers will learn how to improve or develop on the Mediawiki software
as well as the overall technical infrastructure of Wikimedia projects.
Following the training session in Accra last year and its encouraging
outcomes

the step of Abidjan intends to build on the lessons learned so far and
continue to expand the volunteer community of the Africa Wikimedia
Developers Project (AWMD). As a reminder, AWMD is a project that focuses on
recruiting volunteer African Developers for the benefit of the Wikimedia
Movement. Its main goal is to increase the number of volunteer developers
who can solve related Wikimedia issues on the continent and in the movement
at large. Stay tuned for more updates soon!Cheers,*
