Hi, idea sounds good but how to measure? We live and work in separate
environments, eg working in English, French, Arabic, Afrikaans or Swahili.
I definitely have candidates from Swahili wp, but nobody outside our
biotope pobably knows them.
On the other hand: if someone uploaded a few hundred photos to commons -
of which hardly any are used so far - has that contributed to growth?
We need some more ideas for that.
Cheers
Kipala-Ingo

Hi all,
Wiki Indaba 2018 in Tunisia is approaching, and I just thought of something
like *African Wikimedian of the Year Award *to honor African Wikimedian who
has contributed tremendously to Wikimedia projects and its growth in
Africa. We can have other award category too and this would also makes the
event more colorful. What do you think?
Regards,
