Hello everybody,
In deed, I've got scholarship to attend Wikimania this year. Emna (in cc) from Tunisia
will be also there.
Mohamed Bachounda from Algeria, Walaa Abdelmanaem and May Hashem from Tunisia are going to
Mexico also.
The African stand is a good idea but we have to organize a permanent representatives, last
year in London we were so busy with the Wikimedia TN User group stand that I missed
several sessions in Wikimania that's why, this year I made a request to be represented
as a member of the WikiFranca stand (I didn't knew about African's one).
I will not present all time at WikiFranca and Emna could help me to represent Tunisia in
both.
So, we will bring some leaflets about out activities and some foods from Tunisia.
Best,
Habib

I think Habib said he did get a scholarship. That makes it four from
Africa.

Basically, as far as I see Florence’s proposal,
its about either the
wikipedia work within Africa is not visible at all (because none of
us are
there), or that people can see that we exist and
what we have
achieved over
the last year - even if it is in leaflets that
are left on an
unmanned
table.
Essentially, we were just not invited. I didn’t get a scholarship
either.
The only ones I know who did are Douglas and
Bobby, and Dumi as he is
on
the FDC committee - perhaps Habib did? Nobody
else managed. 2 or 3
people
from Africa doesn’t seem like even 5% of the
scholarships to me, but
I
could be wrong.

Not like that but rather a unified or collective effort towards
