Dear African Wikimedians,
The Language and Product Localization team is pleased to announce that the Community-defined list translation suggestion feature has been deployed in 287 Wikipedias, where the mobile experience of Content Translation is available. Below is a link to a screen record you can play to see how the feature works: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Translation_suggestions:_Topic-based_%26_Comm...
You can also try it on your mobile device using this link: https://bn.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:ContentTranslation&...
The team will host an office hour on: - Saturday, 2024-11-23, 14:30 UTC. Check your timezone: https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1732372200 - Video call link: https://meet.google.com/avy-xrnj-fhc
The meeting will be a practical walkthrough to show campaign organizers how to add the tag (<page-collection> </page-collection>) to their campaign article list page so that contributors can discover the articles in the Content Translation tool and translate them. We have also provided a step-by-step help page: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Translation_suggestions:_Topic-based_%26_Comm..., which will be translated to different languages to help you utilize the feature. You will also find screen records on the documentation page to guide you to add the tags.
Thank you for participating in this project and your interest in the feature; see you on Saturday!

This is awesome! Thanks Uzoma.
Don’t know if it’s my network but sometimes the tool seems to be slow in going from page to page. However, this is the best thing for especially us as Africans since most people where we run edit workshop are using phones to edit and access Wikipedia.
Also, if you have a chance kindly enable translation tool for the language “nr”.
Best regards,
