We would love to introduce you to The Afrosounds Project Edit Contest!

Afrosounds is a community of volunteer editors with the aim of promoting the objectives of open source knowledge, documenting credible narratives and bridging the knowledge gap that exists in African music and sounds through the contribution of content (articles & media) on Wikimedia projects, especially Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wiki Commons and correcting misinformation and bias.

There exists a paucity of credible information and knowledge on open source as regards African music and sounds and this is the gap we are trying to bridge through this campaign. We need you to contribute your sum of knowledge about these topics in any African language and English language.

If you are interested in writing articles, translating articles or contributing content to open source that concerns African musical artistes, African music executives, African music awards, African music instruments or any other content related to African music, this is your opportunity.

Prizes in the form of shopping vouchers are up for grabs to top contributors.
