Thanks, Jack for the warm introduction.

Hello everyone.

It is wonderful to e-meet you all. As Jack mentioned, I am focused on implementing a partnerships strategy in the Sub-Saharan African region that will grow our movement and support the wonderful work you are all doing.

I look forward to connecting with each of you individually to learn about all the work you have and continue to do. I hope to understand from your perspective, the partnership needs of the movement and how we work together to grow our footprint as well as the participation of Africans in the free knowledge movement (readers, contributors, and advisors).

Feel free to connect over email. Let's set up some time to talk.

Best

Rudolph

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all well.

I am so happy to introduce Rudolph Ampofo, who has joined the Wikimedia Foundation Partnership's team as our new Sub-Saharan Africa Partnerships Manager.

For the past four years, I have been managing our partnerships across the two regions of the Middle East and Africa, and I am excited to work alongside Rudolph to ensure a smooth transition as he takes over our Sub-Saharan Africa partnerships. I will now be focusing more on building and maintaining partnerships across the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region.

Here is some information about Rudolph:

Rudolph is passionate about impacting lives in rural and marginalized communities in Africa. He has degrees in Human Resources and Law. After working with a local HR and management consulting firm, he set up his first business, a center-based program for children with Autism and other related disorders (ASD). They have impacted over 100 children with ASD in Kumasi, Ghana.

He later set up Craft Education, which supported Eneza expansion into West Africa (Ghana & Ivory Coast) and has impacted over 40,000 learners in rural and marginalized communities via text messaging e-learning platform. Rudolph also contributed at the strategic level helping Eneza win awards from GSMA and MIT Solve. Currently, Craft Education is exploring how to use technology to change access to healthcare, service providers and education for individuals with ASD in Africa (this is his passion project!).

Rudolph is also excited about work that challenges the equilibrium and changes lives for the better. He turns into a geek and his eyes light up! He loves manga and martial arts (former practitioner of TKD and Karate…he is planning on picking it up again). Husband, learning to cook, likes nice things, a tech enthusiast (self-taught front-end development and loves product management). FYI, he really cares about the borders on the excel sheet! (you would think it’s the world cup).

Rudolph is based in Accra, Ghana and is working on implementing a partnerships strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa, with a special focus on increasing usage, access, and awareness of Wikimedia projects, as well as the availability of locally relevant content.

Feel free to reach out and welcome Rudolph!

Many thanks,
Jack
