"Wikipedia expects people to add references, but it's often too late before newcomers realize this."

hi y'all –

If you are someone who relates to the statement above, please consider joining the Wikimedia Foundation's Editing Team [i] for a conversation today (Friday, 16 December) at 16:00 UTC.

We will be talking about ideas for new features for the visual editor to make it easier for people to follow Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. [ii][iii]

We will also talk about the impact policies like Verifiability and Neutral point of view can have on what knowledge does and does not get included in Wikipedia.

You can learn more about tomorrow's event and see some of the people who are planning to attend by visiting: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Editing_team/Community_Conversations#16_December_2022.

Oh and I'm Peter (User:PPelberg (WMF)) 👋🏼 I work as a product manager on the Foundation's Editing Team.
