Better late than ever. Thanks Leila. Very insightful musings. Very curious to know more about incentivising African researchers re: Wikimedia projects. Currently finishing an Msc in Data Sci with Edinburgh. Also curating huge data assets and datasets on Malawi. Will follow Research.Wikimedia (and you) keenly.

Hi all,

My name is Leila and I'm a senior research scientist at WMF and the technical lead for the Research team. I gave a talk in Research Showcase session in Wiki Indaba over the weekend and am sharing with you the notes from that session at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:LZia_(WMF)/Trip_reports#Wiki_Indaba_2018

I hope you find them helpful. And if you were in the session and I misunderstood a conversation, please call it out. :)

I'm looking forward to working more closely with you in the coming years. Please feel free to reach out with questions or comments.

Best,
Leila
