Dear community members,

The Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos 2021 Jury Team has announced the result of the campaign this year.

This year, photos were added to a total of 252,227 articles in 247 languages Wikipedia; audios were added to a total of 2,957 articles in 144 languages and videos were added to a total of 3,794 articles in 240 languages.

A total of 1021 users participated in the campaign.

The list of top participants have been published on the campaign project page on Meta Wiki.

Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP) is an annual campaign where Wikipedia editors across the world, Wikipedia language projects and communities add photos to Wikipedia articles lacking photos.

It was launched last year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic to engage volunteers in simple editing tasks and to ensure that digital media files collected from various Wikimedia photography contests, photowalks organized by the Wikimedia community, are used on Wikipedia article pages where they are lacking.
