Dear Wikimedians,
As a part of the Wikimedia Movement’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in Uganda, together with the WikiIndaba Steering Committee (WISCom) have resolved to postpone WikiIndaba 2020, which was scheduled to happen in Kampala, Uganda in November 2020.
WikiIndaba will continue to be hosted in Kampala, Uganda, and the new date for the next WikiIndaba will (tentatively) be on 6 - 8 November 2021 in Uganda.
The LOC and WISCom along with support from the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) will continue planning for the conference to ensure participants in the African continent and from the diaspora have a memorable and impactful conference.
More updates regarding WikiIndaba 2021 will be posted as they develop, and these will be shared on meta, mailing lists, and other social channels.
We encourage all interested participants to take advantage of this postponement to start preparing or improving their proposals, talks, and any interesting projects they will like to share at the conference in advance. Your participation and support to the program will be instrumental to sharing your collective knowledge and creativity with fellow Wikimedians at the conference.
Look out for the call out for proposals and dates on these channels;
