Hello Ionda that will be a great idea and the User group in Ghana will be more than willing to take up that task. The only issue here is the new proposal of holding Wikimania once every two years and in between it have a regional meet up which takes effect in 2017.I doubt if it will be possible to host Indaba that year. But let us see how it goes whether or not there would be an Indaba around that time we will still want to take an active role of that project.
Kindest regards

why not organising Wikiindaba in 2017 in Accra Ghana with ACASA, the Art Council of African Studies Association (August 9 to August 13, 2017).
it can take place before or after this conference in the same university and during ACASA it can involve scholars and international researchers focussed on African culture in contributing to Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects[2].
the organizers of ACASA conference like the idea of bridging a Wikimedia related conference with their event. The current president of ACASA is Silvia Forni (a curator of the ROM - the Ontario Royal Museum) who was involved in the very beginning of WikiAfrica and she understands the value of a collaboration. It would facilitate the logistics, assure a good number of relevant participants (who can attend the conference with grants who do not come from WFM), it can facilitate future GLAM activities related to Africa at an international level, and it brings to both teams different skills and networks.
best,
iolanda
