Indeed, you should worry.
From my perspective here in Ghana, i don't think we have done much, except
for Edit Ghana (Felix can say more about that), which I witnessed as successful. Aside that, nothing huge has happened, not factoring in the Wiki Loves Africa event, which was a continental wide event.
But, I must say, the group in Ghana will be up and running with a couple of projects soon, and be more active.
I think for what the team at here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2014/Day_3/Team_2_Wiki... discussed, the group in Ghana might not be far from reaching those targets too.
And of course, hitting these targets take time. If these targets' fulfillment is the threshold for initiating discussion for subsequent Wiki Indabas, then I guess Wiki Indaba might have to wait a bit, assuming Ghana is only the factor involved.
thanks

Hi Rex,
I think I can give you a concrete and succinct answer especially regarding the hosting of the next WikiIndaba after we have satisfied ourselves with the following goals really:
- Establish a sustainable dialogue with collaborators in Wikimedia
Chapters, the Wikimedia Foundation and the international communities to frame the issue of community activation and corporate governance in the context of Africa.
- We aim to build a shared understanding of what it means to be a
volunteer in Africa and why it is important.
- Connect, multiply and create successful initiatives for increasing
community activation and support within regions.
- We aim to turn ideas into action.
As much as I'm also thinking about the next Indaba but for now my biggest concern are the conversations that took place on the links below. How far am I as a board director of WMZA into achieving them. How can I hasten or fast track them to being realized. How can I stimulate a more engaging and action orientated conversion with my fellow African and WikiIndaba colleagues.

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2014/Day_3/Team_3_Wiki...
After all this I can have an in-depth discussion on organising the next Indaba knowing that there's a positive report regarding all these issue.
This is my constant worry really.

Okay. That sounds like a good idea.
So that translates to 2016 then, right?
When will discussions relating to where it'll or should be hosted and or other arrangements going to start? Or such discussions are already ongoing?
I don't know if the answers to the above questions are in the report. I couldn't go through the pages.

Hi Rex,
A grievous mistake from me. And my sincere apologies for not coming back to inform you about this in time. I thought this was one of the things we would be discussing on the African meetup sessions.
After the Indaba we (WMZA) had a meeting to look at what we have learned from organizing the Indaba, what can be improved in organizing the next one (be it in SA or any other African country that might want to organize it in the future) and if we have achieved our purpose as a chapter. And one of the things that came out was that the work was massive to be achieved in 1 year, so looking at the experience we had, we saw that for achieving the goals we set out to do plus organising another conference 2 years would be adequate.

Great to hear the updates.
I read: "We took a decision that we will be having an Indaba after every 2 years."
Am I part of the 'We' in this statement? Or there's a committee responsible for determining how frequent the Indaba happens?
thanks

Hi Felix and Rex,
My apologies for not coming back to you in time Felix. And thanks for bringing this up Rex.
We took a decision that we will be having an Indaba after every 2 years. As you may agree with me that In order to move forward we need to address the issues raised at the Indaba, So as much as we are all busy but the 24 months will give us ample time to address the proposals and recommendations taken at the Indaba.
Otherwise as Theresa has pointed out let's meet at the African meetup in Berlin and discuss this further. And those who are going to Mexico let's meet there as well.

My man Bobby promised to get back on that question when i asked so i am patiently waiting.
Will be glad to hear something on that soon!
