Congratulations to @Jael and the team on this fantastic news! Wishing you great success.
Dear friends,
Wikimedia UG Nigeria is excited to share our *International Women's Day (IWD) 2025* plans with the African community.
This year's *IWD/WikiGap 2025* holds special significance for us, especially with the incredible support we receive across our ecosystem. In light of this, we have planned a *three-day in-person event* dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of Nigerian women.
- *Day 1 & Day 2:* Focused on *capacity development*, we will train
women from our partner organizations ' networks, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive.
- *Day 3:* A high-level *symposium* chaired by *Her Excellency
Annika Hahn-Englund*, the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Ghana, and ECOWAS. This will take place at *Nordic Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos*, featuring distinguished Nigerian women from the banking sector, civil society, and government agencies, discussing the theme *"Accelerate Action."*
The Swedish Embassy in Nigeria, Nordic Hotel, Women FM 91.7FM, and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists partly support this event.
To conclude, *WikiGap 2025* will culminate in a *major press briefing* featuring *Her Excellency, the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria*, alongside representatives from our partner organizations. The briefing will highlight their ongoing commitment to supporting Nigerian women since the launch of *WikiGap Nigeria in 2019*. Several leading Nigerian media houses have already confirmed their participation.
The event is documented on the *Celebrate Women* page and WikiGap 2025 in Nigeria https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:WikiGap_2025_in_Nigeria on Meta for more details.
We look forward to an impactful celebration!
*Best regards,*
Amb Olushola Olaniyan
