Hello Drex
My biggest suggestion at the moment would be for you to join the Facebook Wiki Loves Africa Group. This is the place where you have most chance to get in touch, be informed, jump in, ask questions and so on. Do not wait for us to give you the info (we might forget...), but rather be proactive. If you are on the facebook group, you will get the info in time.

Make a request to join and we'll get you in.
Otherwise, the right place to get more information about the contest is on meta

What is next at the moment is...
1) cleaning up images (categories, description, countries, insertion in the right articles). If you want me to remember you at the right moment, help now :) : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images_from_Wiki_Loves_Africa_20...
2) photo essays hunting and featuring : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Africa_2017/photo_essa... Serieminou was very helpful the last few days on this. If others want to help... feel free
3) jury and selection of images, locally and globally
4) ceremonies. Locally, I dunno what is exactly planned locally. At the global scale, we would like to officially announce winners during WikiIndaba.
5) statistics and such... if you are a data wizard, volunteer... I have fresh news on this which I will post soon on FB
What I mean is... that even if part of WLA 2017 is already over... you can still help on it. Which means you will be more informed about how it works next year.
Next year Currently quite in the void since WMF has expressed wish to get a step back as a funder. So we are starting to look for additional funders. If we are lucky... next contest will be in fall 2018. If we are less lucky, it may be a little bit later. No big deal. If any of you want to HELP and GET INVOLVED ACTIVELY in this funny and challenging and exhausting and exciting activity that is called "looking for funds", please contact us.

Hi, This is Lily for Wiki Loves Monuments international team. When you say "organize the photo contest in Gambia", are you referring to a specific photo contest or any photo contest? :) I'd be happy to provide some information about how you can start preparing for Wiki Loves Monuments 2018 if you're interested, but I'm not sure if that's what you have in mind. Please let me know. Best, Lily On Sat, Nov 25, 2017 at 5:20 PM, drex drex <slamraz@gmail.com <mailto:slamraz@gmail.com>> wrote: Hi all, i want to host and organize the photo contest in Gambia.
