RTL is indeed the difficulty here - so "first" choice is "left" in LTR languages and "right" in RTL languages. And an editor could arrive there from a link directly to the translated page (e.g.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Abstract Wikipedia/Wiki of functions naming contest/Names/ar ) but could have their language-preferences for this wiki set to English or another LTR language (or vice-versa), so it's hard to predict whether the instructions should match the content-text or the interface-text.
