You may also take a look at [[Extension:Semantic MediaWiki]] and related
Semantic* extensions.

In it.wikisource a DIY solution for this is to use labeled section
transclusion extension to build "named variable arrays". It runs, but - as I
told - it's merely a DIY trick, our goal is to implement
[[Extension:Semantic MediaWiki]], "the solution".
