If your remit is such that you are required to
communicate things
about a particular project, then it is within your responsibility to
find that out, by asking questions, by doing research - the actual
implementation plans are there, in Subversion, for anyone to see - as
is the code - and by pestering the developer(s) concerned until you
know everything you feel you need to.
Review his presentations, review his plans, hell - ask Brion for an
interview if you think that you can compose the questions.
I do not consider that my task. At least not as comcom member. As
Wikizine editor I attempt to find out what what I can were I can. And
that is not a lot.
Brion is the chief technical officer of the WMF. If there is anything
that should be known regarding technical matters then it should be Brion
who informs whoever he is supposed to inform. And then that will also
be send to comcom I hope.
Besides that I have no good experience in asking something. Bug; 7197 ,
8662 and 10098
Then it sounds like the committee is malformed and
needs to be created
anew, with fresh volunteers, and with a proper understanding of what
its purpose is. And as I suspected, the blame does lie higher.

What I am supposed to do as comcom member has never become clear to me.
I think that was one of first questions I raised in the comcom when
it was created. What I actually do is to follow the postings on the
comcom mailing list, give my opinion about certain things, if I discover
something relevant inform the other comcom members about it. And report
the news that find out from the comcom sources that is not confidential
and I believe is relevant for the community in Wikizine. Like I believe
the Signpost people also do.
