Obviously .. then again you rationalise why it is not the NIH syndrome and
you forget about the other arguments why it would be a good thing NOT to
write the same functionality again. A good way of providing arguments why it
is NIH after all.

I don't feel that NIH applies to this case as there are actual technical
and
political considerations, not simply who happened to write the code.
