<p>Note that most organisms more complex than a <a
href="http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/virus" title="virus">virus</a> carry
some genes outside their <a
href="http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/chromosome" title="chromosome">chromosomes</a>;
for example, <a href="http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/bacteria"
title="bacteria">bacteria</a> carry <a
