It really depends on the Wikipedia.

If you go on en: to "Langue française" it is very likely you would
like the French article on the topic. However, even in this case a
redirect may not be suitable.

In the case of, for example, nn: and no:, and in the case of user
pages, it is sometimes a useful feature.
