Hoi,<br>What I care about is best practices. Many Toolserver tools do not pass the Open Source smell tests. They are hacks that are at best a proof of concept. Some of them are mistaken for a solution and as a consequence no real solution is developed. An example of these are the statistics that are so important for our GLAM relations.<br>
<br>We have started with best practices for localisation for Toolserver tools. A good example is SVG translate; not only is the user interface of this tool localisable the tool helps you translate those SVG files that have labels that are separate from the image of the SVG. This allows you to make such images available in YOUR language.<br>
<br>When I look at the X! edit counter I see many language codes, I clicked on many of them and the user interface did not chance. I do not know at what rate localisations go live. I do not know how people can suggest bug fixes. Consequently for me it is not best practice and consequently I may blog about it when such issues are remedied.<br>

In many respects Toolserver tools do not survive one of the open smell tests; is it possible to see the code and is it possible to submit a patch and get it implemented. <br>
<br>For many of the Toolserver tools there is no shared repository. Effectively this denies the possibility of best practices. The relevance of the new Toolserver internationalisation is that any tool worth its salt is welcome and with an almost daily update of localisations its use will be improved.<br>

Hoi,<br>I am really happy to announce that the first Toolserver tools can now be localised at <a href="http://translatewiki.net" target="_blank">translatewiki.net</a>. Thanks to the hard work of Krinkle the first tools make use of the "Intuition" messaging framework. People who know Toolserver, will know that there are many useful tools that help understand, manage, experience Wikimedia projects.<br>
<br>With these first Toolserver tools available now for a few hours, the first localisations have been added and the first languages have already complete localisations at twn. The messages will become available at least at the same rate as the MediaWiki messages (typically every day) so localisation is an extremely effective way of making Toolserver an environment that is accessible to people who speak your language.<br>
