Even that solution sometimes creates new threads, for reasons unbeknownst to me. Turning off Digest mode is the best solution. Digest is intended for people who only intend on reading and replying infrequently; Adam is not that person. With the frequencies of his replies he'd be better suited for individual emails mode.
