I did not take anyone to task. Quite the opposite. I have said many
times in this thread that there seems to be no particular person to blame.
What do you want changed? What's your
actual idea here?
One of my actual ideas is that "So what, we have 2 million articles"
strikes me as not a very helpful approach to improvement. We don't look
at the problem of heart disease by pointing out that almost everyone
makes it through the day without dying of a heart attack.
The problem is systematic, widespread, and worth puzzling over in good
faith without recriminations... particularly not for people who are
merely pointing out that there is a problem and we need to take it
seriously.
