Once again, Eugene, my focus is not on the internal
structure of the
Wikipedia Project; but, rather, the need for a strong day-to-day leadership
to oversee it.
What I'm saying is that the internal structure of the project is badly
suited for strong day-to-day leadership (by an individual or a small
group).
So if you want to introduce such a leadership, you will have to think
about how you want to change that structure.
I believe an open discussion of "leadership"
within the Wikipedia Project is
being hampered by one very important thing: The fact that this Community has
been burned by leadership here in the past. For the sake of the Project's
future, isn't it time to get past that?
Are you referring to Larry Sanger's time here? I don't think this is the
reason. As a fraction of total editors, only very few people are left
from that time.
As a member of the Community, if you are happy with
the present system of
leadership, say so; if not, say so.
I'm not unhappy with the current system; I would have liked most of the
alternatives much less.
PS: Isn't it also time to stop the references and
comparisons to
Citizendium? Every time you mention it in the context of Wikipedia, you
identify us with it. Enough.
I don't understand this comment, but I won't mention our collegues
again.
