No, the problem comes from the fact that the definition of "tall" was
cooked up by some guys on the basis that it included some folks they
wanted in but didn't make the list too long :-)
"Doesn't make the list too long" seems like a reasonable basis to me.
There are tons of situations on Wikipedia where practical considerations
like that come into play, and I suspect repealing such considerations of
length would result in articles of fancruft that would make even me
blush. :)
Would making it more explicit, say by restricting the list to only the
top five hundred tall men rather than some specific height, be an
improvement?
