Yes, this is a serious problem. The most coherent definition I've heard so far
is to rely on reviews in reliable sources and if they call something a spoiler
or such then it is a spoiler. I haven't seen any other definition and it would
be hard to make another definition that wasn't OR. Arguably OR isn't an issue
since the presence of tags is more of a formatting issue than anything
else. It
might help if some of the pro-spoiler people would be willing to
suggest general
guidelines. I at least don't see any that's viable other than relying on
reviewers and other reliable sources.
