It's essentially a references section for about ten thousand articles
- all the Rambot pages originally linked to it in order to cite the
sources for their data. It seems to have been used for similar things
afterwards.

Probably not the best way to do it by current standards - if it was
done now we'd probably have this stuff in <ref></ref> tags on every
individual page - but it worked well enough.
