Any PLC can get it self listed. It is not just a limited company
Alternative Investments Market aparent has 2,200 companies on it's
books.
AIM probably doesnt count in a normal definition of listed (though
there are some requirements - AIM shell companies are not entirely
worthless)
Its the replacement for the USM (the Unlisted Securities Market) ie
trading of unlisted shares without the full listing requirements.
Clearly we need a good definition of what listed means; also
investment trusts and suchlike generally have laxer requirements
and probably should not be included.
