I note that that "style guide" is very long and contains lots of
examples and counter-examples.

I propose a simple policy:
Do not add a link to any site you have an interest in, to any article
in Wikipedia. If you feel it is relevant, mention it on the
corresponding talk page, and another editor may include it.
