You can find the syntax of MySQL queries at 
http://www.mysql.com/documentation/mysql/bychapter/index.html. That'll 
tell you anything you need to know about MySQL, but a lot of it applies 
to running your own server. Since it's read-only, have fun! Be careful 
about running queries that will require a lot of processing though, that 
slows down the site.
