[WikiEN-l] Request for sysop status (to save page histories)

I am in the process of moving the [[programming language]] pages ("Forth
programming language", "LISP programming language" etc.) to standard names
("Forth", "LISP") where there's no need for disambiguation. If I do so by hand, I
can only cut & paste the contents, because there's usually a redirect in
place. Cut and paste, unlike "move page", does not preserve the page history,
however. So the proper course of action is to first delete the redirect pages
and then use "move page". I can only do this with sysop status. (I've thought
about making this possible for non-sysops by changing the code accordingly,
but the security risk is too high.)

So, unless someone else volunteers to move the pages, I'd like to request
temporary sysop status for this purpose only.

Regards,

Erik
